The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

(Sorry it's late! This post was meant for December!!)

Carter and Sadie Kane have almost never had a normal life. When they were young, their mother died of unusual circumstances. Carter and Sadie were separated, and Carter went to "live" with his dad. He was always traveling and his dad had one very important rule: never look in his work bag. Sadie went to live with her grandparents in London. Carter, Sadie, and their dad were only allowed to see each other for two days a year. One night, Carter, Sadie and their dad went to a museum. Carter and Sadie were to lock the curator in his office, while their dad looked at the Rosetta Stone. While inspecting the stone, their father was unaware that the kids had came to watch. He pulled out a wand and started drawing hieroglyphics on the stone. Then, the stone exploded. The stone let out five Egyptian gods, Set, Horus, Isis, Osiris, and Nephythys. Horus went into Carter, Isis went into Sadie, and Osiris went into their father. Set then imprisoned Osiris/the kids dad in a golden sarcophagus, and it sinks into the floor. In this exciting book, there are many Egyptian gods like Horus, Isis, Osiris, Set, Nephythys, Bast, and many more. If you like Rick Riordan's other books, you are sure to like this one!
