The first book of the series is called "Lord Loss". The story is about a boy named Grubitsch (He's called Grubbs for short) Grady. One night, his Dad asks if he wants to come with him, his Mom, and his sister Gret if he wants to come see a ballet with them. Grubbs replies no, and he ends up spending the night with his Aunt Kate, who, according to Grubbs, acts like a 90-year old. So he decides that late in the night, he will run away back to his house. But when he finally arrives, he hears weird and bone-chilling snaps and crunches coming from his parents' room. He made the wrong decision on opening the door, for there was his parents and sister being devoured by flesh hungry demons!
The police soon arrive and Grubbs is taken to a hospital. No one believes him when he tries to explain how his parents and sister died. He is later on put into a straitjacket and given lots of drugs. After many painful months, someone finally comes to Grubb's rescue!
If you want to find out what happens later, feel free to ask me if you can borrow it. Be warned, though. If you are squeamish or get scared real easily, do NOT read this book. It wasn't written for the faint-hearted... :-)
