The Longest Day
I just finished the book The Longest Day. It was about the American invasion of Normandy, (D Day). It was very interesting because it changed perspectives every chapter, so once it was about a german officer, Sgt. Rommel, then a british infantry soldier, and it kept switching to different people. But the point of the book, was to break the common belief that the American forces and surrounding allis, took over Normandy because they were stronger. Well, there could have been a bunch of contributing factors, but the most important is that when the German radio patrol heard the secret code that meant paratroopers were going to jump in, he only alerted one person. The man he told assumed that he already told captains that the navy was coming, but he didn't, so the whole german front line wasn't ready for the attack. It was a very interesting book!
