The Boy Who Dared

The Boy Who Dared is a novel based on a true story of a Hitler Youth. It is a Newbery Honor Book. It is a story about patriotism. The main character's name was Helmuth. He was a German school boy who stood up to the Nazi regime. This was a sad story about a kid who fought for his rights so much that he ended up in jail. He tried to change the way Government was run back in in the 1940's. He was called a trader and finally put to death. This story was a real eye opener for me it was pretty scary that a young boy was treated that way
